LAS InlineDrom - A Mecca for Inline skaters

A new jewel has been added to the inline skating paradise Thurgau – the LAS InlineDrom, the world’s first roofed and standardized inline rink. In addition to the signalized routes "one-eleven" and "Slow-up", inline skaters now enjoy skating in every weather. The LAS InlineDrom in the Güttingersreuti neighborhood in Weinfelden was opened in June 2006.

The new inline skating rink is available to professionals and pleasure skaters for competitions, training or simply for fun. On Wednesdays, the national team has its training session with subsequent races. For the approximately 1,000 active Swiss professional skaters, the LAS InlineDrom is a dream come true. It enables trainings and competitions all year around.

Christoph Luginbühl, an internationally successful skater from the Thurgau, is very enthusiastic: «The Drom is unique in Switzerland after similar projects failed elsewhere.» The LAS InlineDrom is multifunctionally designed and stages events such as concerts or sports events. This multifunctional dimension has already been proven at the opening celebration on June 11, 2006.

For the multi-purpose use, the LAS InlineDrom is equipped with the most modern technologies, such as time measuring systems for tournaments and lightning systems for large events.
