The town Weinfelden is located in the heart of the Thurgau in a countryside with softly rolling hills at the passage of the Thur valley and the Ottenberg.

There is, however, a small downer: linguistically spoken, the origin of the name does not come from wine growing, but from «Wini’s meadow», a reference to a Teutonic name.
